Dear feminists,
We would greatly appreciate it if you would consider signing on to the annual open letter of the NGO Working Group on Women, Peace and Security (WPS), which will be published in advance of this year’s open debate on WPS in the Security Council later this month. We are hoping to obtain signatures from feminist civil society from around the world, particularly in countries that are on the Security Council’s agenda.
The deadline is this Friday, October 4th.
As we approach the 25th anniversary of Resolution 1325, the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda’s vision of peace and equality has never been so important — or so under threat. Yet, feminist movements continue to fight back against misogyny and repression, for a more just and peaceful future. We refuse to accept anything less than our rights — and neither should the international community.
Ahead of the upcoming UN Security Council Open Debate on WPS, we are calling on the Security Council to take decisive action in 10 areas to protect women’s rights in conflict.
Join us in calling for urgent action to deliver on 25 years of the WPS agenda: sign on to our open letter by 4 October, available in English, Arabic, French, Russian and Spanish.

In solidarity,
